Viking 14 in. Shallow Bowl – Bluenique
I recently was looking for information on a Viking Bowl — specifically the Epic bluenique 14″ 6 Petal Shallow Bowl. I can usually find what I am looking for on eBay or another collectible site but this one was a bit elusive.
I found some information from a wonderful website called Viking Art Glass about the bowl in the 8″ version. They have an annual membership available that will get you specifics like catalog date and item number as well as the secondary market value and a short description. If you don’t want to purchase the annual membership, you can buy the details of a certain product for a onetime charge of $1.
I had purchased a couple of the details for a different bowl and ashtray already and was disappointed the 14″ bowl wasn’t listed. I used the contact form to ask if they had any info about it and waited for a reply email.
When it came, Preston was very helpful. He had me send him pictures of the bowl and verified (as far as he could tell from pictures) that it was the Epic line 14″ shallow bowl in the bluenique color. He gave me the production year and product ID too.
Just a big thank you to a collector to take the time to help me with the task. My family member was very pleased to get the details. Maybe she will sell it someday… but it is beautiful!
