The first full weekend in October this year, the 6th through the 9th, 2011, the Riley Days Festival will take place in Greenfield, IN. This is one of the largest festivals in the state of Indiana. Thousands will attend the 4 day festival that marks the 42 annual celebration of Indiana poet, James Whitcomb Riley’s birthday and birthplace.
Each year, the festival uses one of Riley’s 1,000 or so poem titles as the theme of the celebration. This years’ theme is titled after his poem, “Her Valentine”.
The festival kicks off on Thursday and runs through Sunday. With flea markets, crafters, good food, the arts, quilts, pumpkin contests, baking contests, parade of flowers through downtown Greenfield and so much more, it’s easy to see why so many people make the trek to Greenfield each year.
And, YES! We will be there at the Vintage With A Twist booth inside the JW Riley Emporium on Main Street. Manning our booth, helping customers and enjoying the festivities. Plan a weekend or day trip to Greenfield during the Riley Festival… you’ll come back!
