You know we at Vintage With A Twist love, love, love anything that has had a previous life and is given a new life — basically repurposing. We have found a unique treasure that we wanted to share with all our Vintage With A Twist readers/customers because we know you will appreciate it.
Bullet Cuff Links
There is a Canadian company, “A Well Dressed Bullet”, that hand-makes bullet cuff links. It’s a husband and wife team that having been making unique items from fired bullets since 1983. These particular bullets are authentic, fired 7.62 x 51 bullets (aka 308 Winchester bullets) military brass rifle cases. (No live primers.)
Rick, the artist, hand makes each of the cuff links by attaching the bullet end to gold tone toggle style cuff link backs. Each and every one of them is an original and may vary slightly in dimension or design. When purchased, the lovely cuff links will arrive in about 2 weeks (to US addresses) and will be nestled in a soft, metallic gold gift bag with a draw string.
What a wonderful, unique gift you can give someone in your life. It’s eco friendly and repurposing at its’ best! The cost for a pair of cuff links is $15 USD — very affordable for such an unusual gift. They are available at their Etsy Store here: BulletCuffLinks

The Best Thing of All
Rick and Kathy (admin/webmaster) are very special people with very big hearts. With each purchase of cuff links from the Etsy Shop, they donate the entire $15 to the BuckHawk Center Animal Rescue (a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit with the IRS), located in rural, south-central Missouri. Rick and Kathy have never physically met Susan Kennedy, the BuckHawk Center Director, but have come to know her through the internet, the center’s website and emailing.
They believe in the work the center is doing in rescuing animals, finding homes and controlling the pet population with spaying and neutering. Susan explains:
“Every animal at the center is treated like a treasured pet. No animal is kept on concrete floors in small kennels. Instead, we provide them with large play yards, plenty of running room and large protected houses. Each adoptable dog is given basic training and taught to be a good house pet.”
Animals are never euthanized due to space limitations or not being adopted. They live out the remainder of their lives at BuckHawk Center as a part of the family.
Kathy meticulously posts the sales of the cuff links to keep everything out in the open as far as donating to the BuckHawk Center goes. You can find past sales and more information about their company and Rick & Kathy at their blog: A Well Dressed Bullet Blog
If you would like a truly unique gift item for a wedding, birthday, or holiday — consider a set of these bullet cuff links. You’ll be supporting a wonderful cause with your purchase!
