Precious Moments figurines are a collectible figurine made by artist Sam Butcher. They were very popular when I started collecting them in the 1980′s. My first piece was the bride and groom (Lord Bless You and Keep You) given to me by my future sister-in-law. We used it as our wedding cake topper.
I visited the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Missouri one summer. I met the artist, Sam Butcher and he signed a few of my figurines. My mother-in-law and I really enjoyed collecting these figurines for more than a decade.
Life changes and interest change and my collection ended up boxed up in the attic. I recently ran across them again and put a few in the Vintage With A Twist Booth not sure if they would sell or not. Many people still love the tear drop eyed children with their biblical references but I knew the sheer number of collectors had dropped drastically over the last decade.
I sold all three on the same day to the same person. I dug out three more and put them in the booth. We’ll see if that was just a fluke or if there are collectors lurking and looking for a deal!
